181 Fremont Street is a
proposed skyscraper located in San
Francisco's
South of
Market District. The building, designed by Heller Manus Architects, will be
located right next to the Transbay
Terminal
and 199 Fremont Street
. The slender mixed-use tower, developed by
SKS Investments, is set to rise and
contain 66 floors of offices and residential condominiums. The
tower will contain of office space and 140 condominiums.
If built,
this tower will be taller than the Transamerica Pyramid
, along with several taller
buildings
. Currently, the project plan exceeds the 350
foot (106 m) local height limit by a wide margin. However, on May
1, 2008, the city of San Francisco released a zoning plan that
allowed the tower to rise as high as , only twice as high as the
current height restriction.
