    • The French warship Jena is blown up at Toulonmarker; 120 lives are lost.
    • The 1907 Romanian Peasants' Revolt breaks out.
  • March 5 – The new State Duma opens in St. Petersburg, Russiamarker; 40,000 demonstrators have to be dispersed by Russianmarker troops.
  • March 1516 – The parliamentary elections in Finland are the first in the world with woman candidates, as well as the first elections in Europe where universal suffrage is applied.
  • March 18 – The first and only train robbery in Swedenmarker (as of 2004) occurs.
  • March 22 – The first taxicabs with taxi meter begin operating in London.
