The 1948 FA Charity Shield was the 26th FA Charity Shield, an annual football match held between the winners of the previous season's Football League and FA Cup competitions. The match was contested by Arsenal, who had won the 1947–48 Football League, and Manchester United, who had won the 1947–48 FA Cup, at Arsenal Stadiummarker on 6 October 1948. Arsenal won the match 4–3, with six of the seven goals coming before half-time. Arsenal's goals were scored by Reg Lewis (2), Bryn Jones and Ronnie Rooke, and Manchester United's were scored by Jack Rowley, Ronnie Burke and Charlie Mitten.
