The 2001 IIHF World U18 Championships were held in Heinolamarker, Helsinkimarker, and Lahtimarker, Finlandmarker. The championships ran between April 12 and April 22, 2001. Games were played at the Heinolan Jäähalli in Heinola, the Helsinki Ice Hallmarker in Helsinki, and the Lahden Jäähallimarker in Lahti. Russiamarker defeated Switzerlandmarker 6-2 in the final to win the gold medal, with Finlandmarker defeating the Czech Republicmarker 2-1 to capture the bronze medal.
