Abdullah Ercan (born December 8, 1971 in Istanbul, Turkey) is a Turkish football player.

Career

Ercan began football at Beyoğlu Kapalıçarşıspor in 1988. He played mostly for Trabzonspor (1990-1999) and Fenerbahçe (1999-2003). Ercan transferred to Galatasaray in 2003-2004 season and İstanbulspor in 2004-2005 season.

Attributes

An intelligent player, he knows when to hold back and is a defensive bonus to the back four.

International career

He played for Turkey national football team and was a participant at Euro 1996, Euro 2000 and 2002 FIFA World Cup. Ercan's winding runs and crosses down the left flank caused mayhem for opponents.

Coaching career

Ercan is currently a head coach for the Turkey national under-17 football team.
