Aeternus is a death metal band from Bergen, Norwaymarker.

Biography

Aeternus formed in 1993 as a trio, composed of Ares, Erik Vrolok, and Morrigan. They released their debut album, Beyond the Wandering Moon, in 1997 on Hammerheart Records (now Karmageddon Media), and toured that year with black metal bands Emperor and Limbonic Art. Their second album, ...And So the Night Became, was released in several different formats, and was accompanied by a tour supporting Deicide. In 1999, they added guitarist Radek, and their sound moved from black metal toward death metal for 1999's Shadows of Old. Morrigan left the group in 2001, and their first album as a three-piece again was Ascension of Terror. They then departed from Hammerheart and released "A Darker Monument" on the Nocturnal Art Productions label in 2003. The group toured Europe in 2006 to support the Hexaeon release. Vrolok was replaced by S. Winter on drums early in 2006, but as of September 2007, Winter is no longer in the group, and Terris has been named as a replacement.
