Aimo Stefano Diana (born 2 January 1978 in Bresciamarker) is an Italianmarker football who currently plays for Torino F.C. in the Italian second division.

A player of wide range, he can appear as a midfielder or a right back on the same side.

Club career

A product of Brescia Calcio's youth system, Diana made his debuts for the first team in the second division in 1997, and played his first Serie A match on August 31 of the same year, against Inter Milan. He was loaned out to Hellas Verona in 1999 before leaving for good to Parma F.C..

Diana did not obtain particular success with the Emilian side, and he left Parma on January 2003 in a six-months loan to Reggina Calcio, along with Emiliano Bonazzoli, posteriorly signing for U.C. Sampdoriain the end of the season. A key member from the start for the Genovesemarker, Diana helped it qualify for the UEFA Cup in 2004-05, has he netted five league goals in 32 contests; in early May 2005, he scored the game's only at Juventus and, the following week, also found the net, in a 3-0 home success against ACF Fiorentina.

In 2006, Diana signed for U.S. Citt√† di Palermo, being regularly used in one 1/2 seasons and scoring two goals, including the equalizer in a 2‚Äď1 win by the Rosanero against AC Milan. On January 30, 2008, he was sold to Torino F.C. in a permanent move.

International career

After impressing for Sampdoria, Diana received his first call-ups to the national team, making his debut in a friendly match against Spain, on April 28, 2004.

A regular for Marcello Lippi on the Azzurri, an injury prevented him from being picked to the squad at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, in Germanymarker.
