Dr. Albert Joseph Simone (born December, 1935 in Boston, MA) is a former president of the Rochester Institute of Technologymarker (RIT) in Rochester, New Yorkmarker, USA.

He became president of RIT on September 1, 1992, succeeding M. Richard Rose. Simone was previously president of the University of Hawaii System and chancellor of the University of Hawaii at Manoamarker. His tenure at RIT saw additional PhD programs (in microsystems engineering, computing and information sciences, and color science) inaugurated and improvements made to RIT's athletic program (such as the construction of the Gordon Field House and Activities Center and the elevation of the men's hockey team to Division I). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Tufts Universitymarker, and a Ph.D in economics from MITmarker.

He retired from RIT July 1 2007, succeeded by William W. Destler. Simone and his wife, Carolie, expect to remain in Rochester and contribute to the community.

June 15 2007 was proclaimed Albert J. Simone Day in Rochestermarker and Monroe Countymarker.
