Alyson Avenue is a Swedish
classic rock band. The band's musical
style was described as "
AOR". The
band has released two albums:
Presence of Mind and
Omega.
Lead vocalist
Anette Olzon (who used
her then-married name Anette Blyckert for the band) left due to
wanting to tour and be part of something bigger than Alyson Avenue,
which was more of a hobby to the members.
On 24 May 2007, she was officially
announced as the new lead vocalist for the Finnish
symphonic metal band Nightwish. Members of Alyson Avenue
continued making music in the new band
Sapphire. Their lead vocalist was
Thomas Bursell, who was previously the lead
singer of
Second Heat.
In July 2008, bassist Thomas Löyskä posted on Alyson Avenue's
official
MySpace blog
that the band will continue and are holding auditions for a new
female lead vocalist. In May 2009, Alyson Avenue introduced
Arabella Vitanc as their new lead
vocalist.
