Ane Brun (IPA ɑnə
brʉn), real name Ane Brunvoll (born 10 March 1976), is a Norwegian
singer/songwriter, born and raised in Molde
, Norway
.
She lives
in Stockholm
, Sweden
. She
co-runs a record company, DetErMine Records ("It is my" in
Norwegian), alongside Ellekari Larsson of
The
Tiny.
After a few years of numerous live stints in Sweden and Norway and
several non-official EP releases her first official album,
Spending Time with
Morgan, was released at the end of May 2003 in
Scandinavia, and in various European countries in the autumn of
2003. The album was released via DetErMineRecords which is licensed
to
V2 Music for USA distribution.
History
Ane started her musical career fairly late. It wasn't until she had
turned 21 she took up acoustic guitar.
Her first official
live appearances were in 1998 on the streets of Barcelona
and San Sebastian
.
After
moving to Bergen
she started
composing her own material and joined the Norwegian band Damsels in
Distress. In 2000 Ane moved to Stockholm and began making a
living performing live music. She has worked together with several
other artists, such as Norwegian popgroup
a-ha,
Ron Sexsmith,
Madrugada and
Koop.
Ane Brun's cover version of "
True
Colors" was featured in an advert for
Sky+
HD.
Ane Brun's song 'Lullaby For Grown-Ups' was featured in an advert
advertising Channel 4's Horror Season.
Ane Brun lends vocals in the song, "Innan Du Gar" from Theresa
Andersson's "Hummingbird, Go!" album.
