AnsaldoBreda S.p.A. is a rail transport engineering company based in Italymarker. The company designs and manufactures railway and mass transit vehicles.

Company details

AnsaldoBreda was formed in 2001 by the merger of Ansaldo Trasporti and Breda Costruzioni Ferroviarie, and is part of the Finmeccanica holding. It has production sites on four locations in Italy: Naplesmarker, Reggio Calabriamarker, Palermomarker, and Pistoiamarker. The company employs 2,400 people in total. Since 2008, Salvatore Bianconi is the Chief Executive Officer of AnsaldoBreda.

Products



AnsaldoBreda manufactures railway cars, trams, and trains for commuter rail, high-speed rail, and main line.

The Sirio is a low-floor tram model and is used in cities throughout Europe such as Athensmarker, Gothenburgmarker, and Milanmarker. The tram models T-68 and T-69 are used in the United Kingdom alone.

Two of AnsaldoBreda's high-speed trains are the ETR 500 model used in Italy and the V250 model planned to be used in the Netherlands and Belgium. The IC4 model is an inter-city train for the Danish main lines. The FS Class E403 of locomotives is used in Italy.
