Antony is a commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located . (7 miles) from the center of Paris. Antony is a sub-prefecture of the Hauts-de-Seine department and the seat of the Arrondissement of Antony.

Name

The name Antony was recorded for the first time in a royal charter of 829 as Antoniacum, meaning "estate of Antonius", a Gallo-Roman landowner.

At the end of the Hundred Years' War, Antony counted around a hundred inhabitants.
