The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) was founded in 1916 to accredit schools of business worldwide. The first accreditation took place in 1919. The stated mission is to advance quality management education worldwide through accreditation and thought leadership.

Its founding members include Columbia University, Dartmouth Collegemarker, Harvard Universitymarker, New York Universitymarker, Northwestern Universitymarker, Ohio State Universitymarker, Tulane Universitymarker, University of California at Berkeleymarker, University of Chicagomarker, Purdue Universitymarker, University of Illinois, University of Nebraska, University of Pennsylvaniamarker, University of Pittsburghmarker, The University of Texasmarker, University of Wisconsin–Madisonmarker, and Yale Universitymarker. In 2009 AACSB has opened its first regional headquarters in Singapore.

As of April 2009, the AACSB accredits 567 institutions on six continents. An institution can be accredited in business and not accountancy. See List of AACSB Accredited Institutions.

For many years the organization was previously known as the American Association of Colleges and Schools of Business.
