South Ayrshire with local news,
issues and sports coverage.

, although these areas are served
primarily by sister papers the Irvine
and the Kilmarnock
The Ayrshire Post was founded in 1880
voice of Liberalism in direct competition to existing Tory rival
The Ayr Advertiser and the now defunct Ayr Observer and the more
radical Ayrshire Express. The paper is currently owned by Scottish
& Universal Newspapers, part of the bigger Trinity Mirror
Group. It now has the largest
circulation of all publications in the Scottish and Universal
stable. The Ayrshire Post's editorial headquarters
are on Nile Court in Ayr town centre.
