BOC Aviation, formerly named Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE), is a company engaged in Commercial Aircraft Sales and Leasing, with headquarters in Singaporemarker and offices in the UKmarker and the United Statesmarker. Owned by the Bank of China, the company provides operating lease and fleet financing services for airlines. BOC Aviation-owned aircraft are currently in service with airlines in Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East and North and South America.

BOC Aviation currently owns 128 aircraft with an average age of approximately four years. A further 68 aircraft are on firm order until 2012.

History

SALE was jointly owned by four shareholders:

On 15 December 2006, Bank of China bought out all four companies' shares for US$980m.. Thus, to reflect the change in ownership, the company was renamed BOC Aviation on 2 July 2007.
