The Banas is a river of Rajasthanmarker state in western Indiamarker. It is a tributary of the Chambal Rivermarker, which in turn flows into the Yamunamarker, a tributary of the Gangesmarker. The Banas is approximately 512 kilometres in length.

The Banas originates in the Khamnor Hills of the Aravalli Rangemarker, about 5 km from Kumbhalgarhmarker in Rajsamandmarker District. It flows northeast through Mewar region of Rajasthan, meets the Chambal near the village of Rameshwar in Sawai Madhopurmarker District. The cities of Nathdwaramarker, Jahanpur, and Tonkmarker lie on the river. Major tributaries include the Berachmarker and Menali on the right, and the Kothari, Khari, Dai, Dheel River, Sohadara, Morel and Kalisil on the left.

The Banas drains a basin of 45,833 kmĀ², which lies entirely within Rajasthan. It drains the east slope of the central portion of the Aravalli Range, and the basin includes all or part of Ajmermarker, Bhilwaramarker, Bundimarker, Chittorgarhmarker, Dausamarker, Jaipurmarker, Palimarker, Rajsamandmarker, Sawai Madhopurmarker, Tonkmarker, and Udaipur districts.
