Barking is a constituency represented in the House of Commonsmarker of the Parliament of the United Kingdommarker. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. It has elected Labour MPs since its creation in 1945, usually with strong majorities.

Boundary review

Following their review of parliamentary representation in North Londonmarker the Boundary Commission for England has made modifications and alterations to all existing constituencies. The electoral wards used to create the Barking constituency to be fought at the Next United Kingdom general election are:

  • Abbey, Alibon, Becontree, Eastbury, Gascoigne, Goresbrook, Longbridge, Mayesbrook, Parsloes, Thames, and Valence.
