Barry Paul Sloane (February 10, 1981 in Liverpoolmarker) (age 28) is an Englishmarker actor, best known for playing Niall Rafferty in Hollyoaks

Before joining the cast of Brookside, he was active on the Liverpool music scene, playing bass and singing for a band called Smiling Jackals, before joining Junk Culture as bassist in May 2001.He left Junk Culture in April 2002 to join Brookside, where he remained until the final episode in 2003.

In December 2007, Sloane began playing Niall Rafferty,the long-lost son of Myra McQueen, in Channel 4 soap-opera, Hollyoaks. The character left in 2008. Barry is currently in a relationship with Katy O'Grady, the fourth placed runner up of the most recent series of Sky One programme [[Project Catwalk]. The couple are expecting their first child in March 2010.

In the summer of 2009 Barry appeared as Troy Whitworth in Jez Butterworths critically acclaimed new play JERUSALEM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem_(play) at The Royal Court Theatre London. The play received amazing reviews and has been given a West End transfer in January 2010, with a view to a move to Broadway later in the year.

In September 2009, it was revealed Sloane would guest as Davey Blake in Casualty to air on 9/01/2010.

He also has filmed guest appearences in both The Bill and Doctors both to be shown early next year.
