Bartlett High School, or BHS, is a public four-year high school located in Bartlett, Illinoismarker, a north-west suburb of Chicago, Illinoismarker, in the United Statesmarker. It is part of Elgin Area School District U46, which also includes Elgin High School, Larkin High Schoolmarker, South Elgin High School, and Streamwood High School.

History

Bartlett High School opened its doors in August 1997 as the fourth high school in the Elgin Area School District U46.Some of its teachers have also gone to Bartlett High School at some point of their High School career.

Academics

In 2005, Bartlett had an average composite ACT score of 20.6, and graduated 95.6% of its senior class. In 2009, Bartlett had an average composite ACT score of 21.3 Bartlett High is also home to the Academy of Science, Engineering, and High Technology, an advanced curriculum that students, with special interest in Science, Math, and/or Engineering apply to. Bartlett has not made Adequate Yearly Progress on the Prairie State Achievements Examination, a state test part of the No Child Left Behind Act.

Demographics

The average teacher salary is $57,945, and the average years of teacher experience is 13.5.

Athletics

Bartlett competes in the Upstate Eight Conference. Its mascot is the Hawk. In 2008, the Hawks reached the state semi-finals for football. The fight song is to the tune of the Notre Dame Victory March.
