Beardfish is a progressive rock band from Sweden, formed in 2001. Their style resembles the progressive rock that was popular in the 1970s. Having released two albums independently, the band was signed by InsideOut Music, producing two more albums. In 2008 the band toured with fellow progressive (and part-Swedish) rock band The Tangent. They were scheduled to tour North America in the summer of 2009 with Progressive Nation, a tour organized by Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy. On June 22nd, 2009 they had to pull out of the tour when InsideOut lost funding due to their distributor SPV filing for bankruptcy.
