Bellingham Technical College (called Bellingham Tech or BTC) is located in the Pacific Northwest town of Bellinghammarker in Washington State. Just a mile northwest of downtown Bellingham, the campus resides about 90 miles north of Seattle and 60 miles south of Vancouver, British Columbiamarker. It one of several community colleges in the area, including Whatcom Community College and Northwest Indian College.

BTC partners with local and regional industry to address workforce needs in a variety of fields and there are many opportunities to enter high-wage, high-demand careers.

BTC offers over 50 associate degree and certificate options with many programs in the following areas:

• Construction and Engineering Technology

• Culinary Arts

• Fisheries and Aquaculture

• Health Careers and Child & Family Studies

• Manufacturing and Industrial Technology

• Management, Business and Computer Technology

• Transportation and Mechanical Technology

• Welding Technology

• Electro-Mechanical Technology

BTC also provides classes, programs, and opportunities to assist students in acquiring learning skills necessary for academic and occupational success, and for personal enrichment.

Centers Of Excellence

The NW Center for Process Manufacturing located at BTC is recognized by the state of Washingtonmarker State Board of Community and Technical Colleges as one of ten State Centers of Excellence. Washington's Centers of Excellence website states that..."Centers are flagship institutions that build and sustain Washington’s competitive advantage through statewide leadership. Each Center focuses on a targeted industry that drives the state’s economy and is built upon a reputation for fast, flexible, quality education and training programs. A targeted industry is identified as one that is strategic to the economic growth of a region or state."The center houses several degree programs including Electro-Mechanical Technology, Electronics Technology, Instrumentation and Control and Process technology. This means that graduates from this building will work in many diverse fields (separately) ranging from oil refining to biomedical electronics.

Campus Events

  • LinuxFest Northwest is weekend event held annually in late April. It is dedicated to discussion and development of the Linux operating system and other open source software projects. The event is free to the public and draws nearly a thousand computer professionals and enthusiasts from across Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia.
