C2 (pronounced "eck die") is a Welsh language music and youth strand on BBC Radio Cymru, broadcasts on weeknights between 8pm and 1am from BBC Cymru's studios in Cardiffmarker and Bangormarker.

C2 broadcasts a mix of popular music in both Welsh and English, tending towards rock and pop rock with a distinctive focus on exclusive sessions and interviews with artists alongside regular features such updates on the Welsh music scene, showbiz news, online reviews, sport and a weekly chart show on Monday nights. C2 also broadcasts an annual nation-wide Battle of the Bands competition, supported by Menter Iaith Cymru, with regional rounds broadcast leading up to the final. The competition is open to any Welsh-medium popular music performers.

News bulletins are broadcast every hour between 8pm and 11pm, and a special entertainment bulletin broadcast at 9pm. A short 45-second round-up of the headlines is broadcast at the start of the evening with the rest of the evening's bulletins lasting around 3 minutes.

October 2007 relaunch

On 8 October 2007, C2 underwent major changes & relaunched with Magi Dodd taking over the 8pm-10pm show. Former Big Brother contestant Glyn Wise joined Dodd to co-present twice a week. Her predecessor Dafydd Du moved to a new late show broadcast from 11pm-1am every weeknight.

Huw Stephens remains on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10pm but his Thursday night show has ended. Lisa Gwilym now presents one-hour programmes on Thursdays and Fridays at 10pm along with a longer Sunday afternoon programme (albeit not as part of C2). The Wednesday night 10pm slot is now given over to feature series.

The revamp coincided with the departures of Stephen Edwards, Terwyn Davies and Kevin Davies. Jeni Lyn left her role as presenter but continues work as a music correspondent for the Magi Dodd show on Tuesday nights.

The website was also relaunched with a regular blog from the presenters and production team.

Further changes - September 2008
