California's 14th congressional district is located between San Francisco and San Jose. The district includes portions of San Mateomarker, Santa Claramarker and Santa Cruzmarker counties, most notably containing part of Silicon Valleymarker. It is one of 53 California Congressional Districts.Major cities include Redwood Citymarker, Mountain Viewmarker, Sunnyvalemarker, and Palo Altomarker. The current Representative for this district is Democrat Anna Eshoo, who most recently ran against and defeated Republican Ronny Santana in 2008.

According to a 2006 report, this district is the third wealthiest in the nation, behind only Virginia's 11th congressional district and New Jersey's 11th congressional district.
