Charles Davis is a former football player for the University of Tennesseemarker.

Davis was an All-SEC defensive back for the Tennessee Volunteers. He earned a master's degree in history while a student at UTK.


He went to training camp with the Dallas Cowboys, but did not make the team. Then Davis turned to broadcasting. He worked at 740 The Team in Orlando, Floridamarker, co-hosting a morning show along with local sportscaster Pat Clarke, (along with various special guests including 'The Pastor" Sean Fitzgerald, Glenn Dehmer and Steve Gunter) titled "Clark & Davis" from July 2000 until July 2002.

He has worked as a color analyst for college football on TBS, calling the 2007 BCS National Championship Game with Barry Alvarez and Thom Brennaman and the 2008 and 2009 games with only Brennaman. He and Brennaman also called the Appalachian State vs. Michigan upset in 2007. He is a sideline reporter for The NBA on TNT and is a college football analyst for the NFL Network. In July 2007, he joined the Big Ten Network as a college football analyst and teams up with Thom Brennaman as the network's lead announcers. Davis and Brennaman called Appalachian State's 2007 upset of Michigan, the first-ever game broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

Davis joined the Fox postgame show in October 2008, appearing with Jimmy Johnson and Terry Bradshaw.[348825] He appeared with Chris Rose, Barry Switzer, and Jimmy Johnson on December 7, 2008 for the BCS results shows. For the 2009 NFL season, Fox is pairing Davis with Dick Stockton on regional telecasts.
