Circumferential Road 5, also known as C-5 (or C-5 Road) is a beltway which stretches from Taguig Citymarker to Quezon Citymarker in Metro Manilamarker, the Philippinesmarker. It is one of five circumferential roads which surround the metropolis, running through the eastern portion of Metro Manila and effectively serving as a reliever road for Circumferential Road 4, better known as Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA).

C-5 as a whole is better known by four names: the Taguig and Makati portions as Carlos P. Garcia Avenue, the Pasig portion as E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue, the Libis portion as Boni Serrano Avenue and the Loyola Heights portion as Katipunan Avenue. In addition, C-5 also has other names in addition to those used on the four major stretches of the road. However, when taken collectively, the entire road is called C-5.

Extension

As of July 23, 2007, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said in her State of the Nation Address: The C-5 Road Extension in the North of Metro Manilamarker will be from Katipunan Avenue in Quezon Citymarker to Mariano Naval Street in Navotas Citymarker and the South Extension will be from South Luzon Expressway in Parañaque Citymarker to Coastal Road in Las Piñas Citymarker in the southern part of Ninoy Aquino International Airportmarker. This Project has been started last April 2008 until August 2009. The Project is under Department of Public Works and Highways.

Controversy

Between 3rd and 4th Quarter of year 2008, The C-5 Road South Extension has been discussed in the Senate for the Double-entry in a National Budget. Senator Manuel Villar said: "there are houses located in Merville, Parañaque Citymarker from South Luzon Expressway to Dr. Santos Avenue (Proposed C-5 Road South Extension). Because of this Controversy, Department of Public Works and Highways are deciding to demolish or not to demolish the houses in Merville Subdivision, Parañaque Citymarker to continue the project.
