College Hockey America is a college athletic conference with teams ranging geographically from New Yorkmarker to Alabamamarker and Minnesotamarker. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. When the NCAA no longer sanctioned Division II hockey, this conference formed among schools who had played at that level and chose to compete at the Division I level. Membership in the conference has dwindled since its founding and its future as a men's hockey conference is in serious doubt.

Men's teams leaving the conference

On January 29, 2009 Niagara Universitymarker announced that it and Robert Morris Universitymarker were moving to Atlantic Hockey. Remaining members Bemidji Statemarker appealed again to the WCHA for inclusion, and was accepted, while Alabama-Huntsvillemarker applied to the CCHA and was denied.
