Columbia Airport is a public airport located one mile (1.6 km) southwest of the central business district of Columbiamarker, in Tuolumne Countymarker, Californiamarker, United Statesmarker. It is owned by the County of Tuolumne.

Facilities and aircraft

Columbia Airport covers an area of 356 acres (144 ha) which contains two runways: 17/35 is asphalt paved and measures 4,670 x 75 ft (1,423 x 23 m), and turf runway 11/29 measuring 2,600 x 100 ft (792 x 30 m).

For the 12-month period ending December 31, 2001, the airport had 46,020 aircraft operations, an average of 126 per day: 96% general aviation, 4% air taxi and <1% military.="" There="" are="" 243="" aircraft="" based="" at="" this="" airport:="" 95%="" single="" engine,="" 2%="" multi-engine,="" helicopters and 1% ultralight.

Trivia

In the movie Radio Flyer, actor Tom Hanks' character narrates the story from here. It is revealed that the airport played a key role in his on-screen brother's life.
