History
The Columbia University College of Dental Medicine was established

1916 as the School of Dental and Oral
Surgery, when the School became incorporated into Columbia
University.

Standing Students
The program for students with advanced standing at Columbia enables
graduates of foreign dental schools to gain the training needed to
practice in the United States. Successful completion of the two and
a half-year program allows dentists from overseas to take licensing
exams in any state.
Dual-Degree OptionsThe College of Dental Medicine
provides unique opportunities for students able to participate in a
second program at Columbia University. The five programs available
include a DDS/MPH program in affiliation with the
Mailman School of Public
Health and a DDS/MBA program in affiliation with the
Graduate School of Business.
Research
The College of Dental Medicine possesses a research facility, the
Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Laboratory.
