Daniel Kenedy Pimentel Mateus dos Santos, known as Kenedy (born February 18, 1974 in Bissaumarker, Guinea-Bissaumarker), is a Guinea-Bissauanmarker/Portuguesemarker footballer currently playing with Aias Salamina F.C. of the Greek third division, as a left midfielder.

Club career

During his extensive career, Kenedy represented S.L. Benfica, F.C. Porto, C.F. Estrela da Amadora, C.S. Marítimo, Sporting de Braga (January to December 2004) and Académica de Coimbramarker in Portugalmarker, with abroad stints with Paris Saint-Germain, Albacete Balompié (only three matches for the Spanish second division side), APOEL FC, Ergotelis FC, Kallithea FC and Aias Salamina FC (in Greecemarker, he managed to play in all three major levels of football) and played professional football in five different countries..

International career

Kenedy represented the Portuguese national football team at the 1996 Summer Olympics. He was called up to the 2002 FIFA World Cup squad while still uncapped on the senior level, but was dismissed from the team prior to the start of the tournament, after failing a drugs test.

Personal

Kenedy was named after Americanmarker president John F. Kennedy (note the difference in spelling).
