Dave Cameron (born July 29, 1958 in Charlottetownmarker, Prince Edward Islandmarker) is a retired ice hockey centre. Since 2007, he has been the head coach and general manager of the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors, a junior hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League. This is his second stint as the team's head coach, serving in the same role between 2000-2004 when they were the Toronto St. Michael's Majors. Between 2004-2007, Cameron was the head coach of the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League, the farm team of the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League.

Playing career

Cameron played for the University of Prince Edward Island, when he was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 1978 NHL Entry Draft in the eighth round, 135th overall. He turned professional in 1979 and played three seasons in the Islanders organization before being traded to the Colorado Rockies in October 1981. He made his NHL debut in the 1981–82 season, and he played three seasons for the organization (including its relocation to become the New Jersey Devils). He played his last NHL game in the 1983–84 season. He played parts of two seasons in the minors before ending his playing career.

Coaching career

In 1995, Cameron made a return to professional hockey as the coach of the Detroit Falcons of the Colonial Hockey League. He has worked consistently ever since with stops in the Ontario Hockey League and the American Hockey League. His most recent coaching job since 2007–08 is with the Mississauga St. Mike's Majors.
