David Martin Ruprecht (born
October 14, 1948) is an American
actor/writer primarily known for
his work as host of the Lifetime/PAX game show,
Supermarket Sweep.
He once
hosted the live stage show
version of The
Price is Right at Foxwoods Resort Casino
in Ledyard, Connecticut
. He has also hosted
Family Feud
Live. He currently works in Bally's in Las Vegas as the host
of the Price is Right Show Live along with his long time friend,
Randy West, the announcer from Supermarket Sweep.
He has guest-starred on over 50 television shows from "
Three's Company" to HBO's "
True Blood". From 1990 to 1992, he played Dan
Ryan on the
NBC soap opera
Days of Our Lives.He co-starred in
the Broadway and Showtime productions of "
Perfectly Frank".
Ruprecht
was born in St. Louis,
Missouri
, the son of a Lutheran
minister. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for
the
Downsize DC Foundation
and is a member of the
Libertarian Party.
Ruprecht
is a former Executive Director of the Libertarian Party of California
.
He is a
long-time member of "Rotary International
".
He is married to choreographer Patti Colombo.
