Discovery Kids was a Canadianmarker English language category 2 digital cable specialty channel owned by Corus Entertainment and Discovery Communications.

Discovery Kids aired informative and entertaining programming for children with an emphasis on real-life adventures, nature, technology, science and wildlife from all over the world.

Closure

In September 2009, Corus confirmed it would shut down Discovery Kids. The channel was replaced on most service providers on November 2 with Nickelodeon Canada, which however, operates under a license originally intended a for "YTV OneWorld" network. Because it operates under a separate license, cable and satellite companies that carried Discovery Kids would not automatically receive the new channel unless they negotiated for carriage.

The final show aired was Aquateam. After the closure, the channel showed a non narrated message stating the channel would be replaced by Nickelodeon. They also had during the last 30 minutes notices on shows that would play later in the week but because Nickelodeon would replace Discovery Kids and show what they never aired. The channel began it's first airing on Nickelodeon, Jacob Two Two.
