The Domus Transitoria was Roman Emperor Nero's palace on Palatine Hillmarker destroyed by the Great Fire of Rome in 64 AD. Marble and other parts salvaged from the ruins later became part of the Domus Aureamarker, the Roman Emperor's official residence. The palace was intended to connect all of the possessions of the imperial house with Palatine.

The site was excavated in 1721, where considerable damage was done during the excavations. The lower floors contained sunken gardens, two avillions, a nymphaeum, and an art gallery. The palace contains a hydraulic lift that worked a 120-foot deep shaft and a revolving ceiling in the palace dining room. The upper floors contain bedrooms and fountain rooms which trickle down to the nymphaeums below.
