Eric H. Cline (born September 1, 1960) is an author, historian, archaeologist, and anthropology professor at George Washington Universitymarker, where he is the Chair of the Department of Classical and Semitic Languages and Literatures. Cline received his Ph.D. in Ancient History from the University of Pennsylvaniamarker (1991), his M.A. in Near Eastern Languages and Literatures at Yale Universitymarker (1984), and his B.A. in Classical Archaeology at Dartmouth Collegemarker (1982). He is Associate Director (USA) of the Megiddo (biblical Armageddon) excavations in Israel and Co-Director of the renewed excavations at Tel Kabri, also in Israel.


Dr. Cline has appeared in numerous television documentaries for the National Geographic Channel, the Discovery Channel, the BBC, and the History Channel.
