Plot synopsis

The film takes place in the city of Los Angelesmarker, Californiamarker, and follows two heavily intertwined subplots.

The main plot centres on a meteorite that crashes in Los Angeles, carrying alien spores that transform humans into flesh-eating zombies. The spores spread like a contagious virus across the city transforming the populace into a race of mindless cannibals.

As the virus progresses, two rival gangs - The Lords of Crenshaw and El Diablo - attempt to fight one another for dominance of Los Angeles even as it falls into a zombie apocalypse, although it eventually becomes clear that gang dominance is of little importance in a world without humans.
