George Cabot (January 16, 1752 – April 18, 1823) was an American merchant, seaman, and politician from Boston, Massachusettsmarker. He represented Massachusettsmarker in the U.S. Senate and as the Presiding Officer of the Hartford Convention.

Cabot was born in Salem, Massachusettsmarker, and attended Harvard Collegemarker for two years before dropping out to go to sea. By the age of twenty-one he was captain of his own ship.

A member of the Pro-Administration Party and a Federalist, Cabot's political career began in 1775 and lasted until he became a delegate to the secessionist Hartford Convention of 1814. He died in Boston, Massachusettsmarker in 1823 and was interred in the Mount Auburn Cemeterymarker in Cambridge, Massachusettsmarker.

He is the great-grandfather of Henry Cabot Lodge.
