Gonzaga Preparatory School is a private Catholic high school, located in Spokanemarker, Washingtonmarker. A Jesuit institution, "G-Prep" has been recognized for its college preparation education.

History

Founded as Gonzaga High School in 1887 in the basement of the Gonzaga Universitymarker administrative building. The campus is currently located several miles away from its original home at GU in a building dating back to 1951 (although extensively remodeled in the late 1990s). The school is within the Diocese of Spokane and is administered separately from the university.

Gonzaga Preparatory School was also the first Jesuit school in the country to have a lay president, John Traynor.
