The government of Sweden is a constitutional monarchy based on parliamentary democracy. The affairs of the government of Swedenmarker are directed by a cabinet of minister, which is led by the Prime Minister. The cabinet and the Prime Minister are responsible for their actions to the Riksdagmarker, which is the parliamentmarker. The second branch of parliament is the King, who since 15 September 1973 has been His Majesty, King Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden.
