(born January 1, 1929 in Yamagata, Japan) is a famous Japanese actor. Nakajima is best known for playing Godzilla and is considered by many to be the best monster suit actor. He retired from suit acting in 1972 after the death of special effects director and close friend Eiji Tsuburaya.
