Hector Craig (1775 – January 31, 1842) was a U.S. Representative from New Yorkmarker.

Born in Paisley, Scotlandmarker, CraigImmigrated to the United States and settled in Orange County, New Yorkmarker, in 1790.Founded the town of Craigsville, where he built a paper mill, grist mill, and saw mill.

Craig was elected as a Jacksonian Democratic-Republican to the Eighteenth Congress (March 4, 1823March 3, 1825).

Craig was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-first Congress and served from March 4, 1829, to July 12, 1830, when he resigned.He was appointed surveyor of the port of New York by President Jackson in 1830.United States Commissioner of Insolvency in 1832.Surveyor of customs in New York 1833–1839.He died in Craigsville, New Yorkmarker, January 31, 1842.He was interred in a private cemetery on the Caldwell estate in Blooming Grove, New Yorkmarker.
