Herbert Tenzer (November 1, 1905 in New York Citymarker–March 24, 1993) was an Americanmarker Democratic Party politician, who served two terms of office in the United States House of Representatives.

Tenzer attended public schools, graduated from Stuyvesant High Schoolmarker in 1923 and the New York University School of Lawmarker in 1927. He was admitted to the bar in 1929 and commenced the practice of law in the same year. On January 1, 1937, he organized and became senior partner in a law firm in New York City.

He was elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-ninth and Ninetieth Congresses, serving from January 3, 1965-January 3, 1969, where he represented New York's 5th congressional district. Tenzer was a resident of Lawrencemarker, on Long Islandmarker, New Yorkmarker, until his death there on March 24, 1993.

Tenzer was a founder of the Albert Einstein College of Medicinemarker at Yeshiva Universitymarker. He was a member of the Board of Trustees (and later Chairman and Chairman Emeritus) when the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law was founded, and was instrumental in the creation of the school. Tenzer was also president of the board member for Fight for Sight/National Council to Combat Blindness (NCCB), based in New York City.
