Demographics

census of 2000, there were 984
people, 383 households, and 278 families residing in the village.
The
population density was

units at an average density of 558.8/sq mi (214.5/km²). The
racial makeup of the village was 98.98%

population.
There were 383 households out of which 28.2% had children under the
age of 18 living with them, 62.1% were
married
couples living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no
husband present, and 27.4% were non-families. 23.2% of all
households were made up of individuals and 14.6% had someone living
alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size
was 2.42 and the average family size was 2.83.
In the village the population was spread out with 21.3% under the
age of 18, 4.7% from 18 to 24, 27.3% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45
to 64, and 24.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age
was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 94.5 males. For
every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.3 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $34,135, and
the median income for a family was $38,558. Males had a median
income of $35,263 versus $21,964 for females. The
per capita income for the village was
