Horwich Parkway is a railway station serving the town of Horwichmarker and the western area of Boltonmarker, in Greater Manchestermarker, Englandmarker. Historically located within Lancashiremarker, the station is 16ΒΌ miles (26 km) north west of Manchester Piccadillymarker on the Manchester to Preston commuter line.

Rail services are operated by Northern Rail, who operate the station, and TransPennine Express. Horwich Parkway opened on 2 July 1999 and is the only railway station owned by GMPTE although Northern Rail are contracted to manage it.

Horwich Parkway is the railway station for the Reebok Stadiummarker, home of Bolton Wanderers F.C. and the Middlebrookmarker shopping and leisure complex.

Passengers visiting Horwich itself should be aware that the town centre of Horwichmarker is in fact much closer to Blackrodmarker, the next station on the line, although it has no ticket office and limited parking facilities.

The station is close to Junction 6 of the M61 motorway which adds to its convenience as a park and ride railway station.

The station unusually has no clock, and although it has digital information displays installed on the platforms, they have never been used.

Services

There is generally a half-hourly service Monday to Saturdays northbound to Prestonmarker and Blackpool Northmarker and southbound to Boltonmarker, with trains running alternately to Manchester Piccadillymarker or Manchester Victoriamarker. An hourly service continues to Manchester Airportmarker and there are also a number of through trains to Stockportmarker and Hazel Grovemarker.

On Sundays there are two trains per hour to Blackpool North and one per hour each to Manchester Airport and Manchester Victoria.

On certain Bolton Wanderers matchdays there are football specials.
