Igor Liba is a former Slovak ice hockey player. He was born in November 4, 1960 in Prešovmarker, Czechoslovakiamarker, today in Slovakiamarker. He is 6', 192 lb, left wing. Played on 1992 Bronze Medal winning Olympic Hockey team for Czechoslovakia. Living in Košicemarker, Slovakiamarker.

Igor Liba was inducted into the Slovak Hockey Hall of Fame in 2005.

Career

Igor Liba played for ZPA Prešov (1970–1978), HC Košice (1978–1982, 1984–1988, 1991–1992, 1997–1998 and 1998–1999) and HC Dukla Jihlava (1982–1984) in Czechoslovakiamarker, after 1993 in Slovakiamarker.

In 1983 he was drafted by the Calgary Flames. Played with the New York Rangers (10 games, 2 goals + 5 assists) and Los Angeles Kings (37 games, 7 goals + 18 assists) in the season of 1988–1989. In the Los Angeles Kings he was playing with Wayne Gretzky in one formation.

He also played for EHC Biel - Switzerlandmarker, HC Fiemme Cavalese - Italymarker, TuTo Turku - Finlandmarker, HK VTJ Spišská Nová Ves - Slovakiamarker, HK VTJ Trebišov - Slovakia, HC Zeltweg - Austriamarker and HK Dragon Prešov - Slovakia.
