Jason Gleed 2006

Jason William Gleed is a musician, songwriter, and producer.


He was born November 20, 1974 and is originally from Torontomarker, Canadamarker.

He studied briefly at McMaster Universitymarker, but dropped out and attended York Mills Collegiate Institutemarker before later enrolling at the University of Torontomarker's science program. He left the program in 1999 to work at the newly formed Grayson Matthews Audio.

Over the next five years with Grayson Matthews, Jason became one of the top composers in Canadian television and film, winning numerous awards for excellence in music. Some of his most notable Canadian works include Ikea's "Rug", All-Bran's "The Muse", Sears Canada's "See" theme song, the Toronto Star's "Sweet Marie", Five Alive "5 Seconds" 2 and 3, and theme songs for Braceface, My Dad the Rock Star, and Spider Riders.

In 2005, Jason left Grayson Matthews to work as a freelance composer, and explore other interests. He is currently living in New York Citymarker. He worked for JSM Music doing music for commercials for 2 years. Now working independently with his new band, Gleedsville, and in film with Deetown Entertainment.

Jason is the singer of "Come and get your love" at the end of Alltel commercials. He orchestrated the yawning on the Diet Pepsi Max "Wake Up People" campaign. Last year he co-produced Kelly Clarkson's "Go" song for Ford. He wrote the Hellman's mayo "Are you a scraper" song, and the current national Daisy Sour Cream "A Dollop For Me" song.

Aside from his successes as a composer for television, Jason is also a prolific songwriter, singer, and bass player. He is a featured singer in the movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks, on the songs Follow Me Now and The Abyss Of Death. He is also the co-producer of the Speed Racer theme song for the Wachowski's new film from Warner Brothers. He's also had songs featured in Jumper, American Pie Beta House, What Happens In Vegas. Co-produced the two House remixes for comedy, Hamlet 2.

Gleed spent several years touring with multi-Juno award winning Canadian House DJ/producer, Hatiras. Initially as a bass player, eventually as vocalist/performer, Jaxon. Together Hatiras and Jaxon were known as the Electro House duo, Hatjak. They released one full length album, and several successful singles. Jaxon was also a featured vocalist on the Hatiras/Macca hit single collaboration, Before The Sunrise.

Jason is sponsored by Sony, and occasionally tours with Sony Creative Software showcasing how he uses Sony's Acid music software. He has recently been a featured presenter at the NAMM show in LA, and the NAB show in Las Vegas. Jason has only used Acid to record and produce all his music for film, television, and albums for the last 6 years.
