Jeff Danielson (born August 6, 1970) is the Iowa State Senator from the 10th District. A Democrat, he is the President Pro Tempore of the Iowa Senatemarker, where he has served since 2005. He received his A.A. in General Studies from Hawkeye Community Collegemarker and his B.A. in Public Administration and Masters of Public Policy from the University of Northern Iowamarker.

Danielson currently serves on the Appropriations committee; the Rules and Administration committee; the State Government committee; the Transportation Committee; and the Veterans Affairs committee. He also serves as chair of the Administration and Regulation Appropriations Subcommittee. His prior public service experience includes experience as the Commissioner of the Iowa Department of Transportation and of the Waterloomarker Planning, Programming, and Zoning Commission. He is a U.S. Navy veteran and currently serves the community of Cedar Fallsmarker as a professional firefighter. [392194]

Danielson was first elected in 2004 with 16,712 votes (54%), defeating Republican opponent Frank Dowie. [392195] He was re-elected in 2008 with 16,103 votes, [392196]. He defeated his opponent, Republican Walt Rogers by only 22 votes, following administrative recounts in two precincts and a district-wide recount. [392197]
