Jenny Platt (born 24 September 1979 in Ipswichmarker, Suffolk) is an Englishmarker actress best known for her role as Violet Wilson in long running television soap Coronation Streetmarker. Her first appearance was on 8 October 2004.

Platt trained at East 15 Acting Schoolmarker, and has appeared in many theatre roles.

Before getting the role of Violet in Coronation Street, she had small roles in many TV series including The Bill, Where the Heart Is and Foyle's War.

In 2005, she married actor Oliver Ford but the union lasted just a few months.

In 2006 the British media covered her marriage break up and reported that she was having an affair with co-star Rupert Hill.

In February 2007 it was reported in the media that the actress had quit her role in Coronation Streetmarker, though it was denied by makers Granada Television. It turned out that Granada were indeed right as Platt did not leave the show.

Platt and her co-star Rupert Hill are now back together as a couple. They have now left the show as of March 2008, with her character, Violet, running away with Jamie (Rupert Hill) and Sean (Antony Cotton)'s baby.It was announced on This Morning that Jenny and Rupert are expecting a child together, 21st September 2009.

Platt and Hill now reside in Manchester together.

On 2 April 2008 she was involved in a motorcycle accident, sustaining breaks to both hands, causing both to be cast. The casts were removed by late the following month.

In September 2008 Platt appeared in The Merchant of Venice at the Octagon Theatre in Bolton until the run ended in November 2008. Platt played Narissa and received excellent reviews for her performance.
