Jinping 2 Hydropower Station
( ) is a large dam under construction on the
Yalong River, a tributary of the
Yangtze
River
in Sichuan
Province,
southwest China
.
It will have 8
hydroelectric
generators, each with a
generating capacity of 600 MW. The total planned generating
capacity of the project is 4,800 MW.
Construction started on January 30 2007 and is scheduled to be
completed in 2014.
