Joe McDonnell (born May 11 1961, Kitchener, Ontariomarker, Canada) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played 50 games in the National Hockey League. He played with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Vancouver Canucks.

McDonnell is currently the Director of Amateur Scouting for the Detroit Red Wings. He won four Stanley Cup with Detroit in 1997, 1998, 2002, 2008.
