John Lund (6 February 1911, Rochester, New Yorkmarker - 10 May 1992, Los Angelesmarker) was an American film actor of Norwegian ancestry who is probably best remembered for his role in the film A Foreign Affair (1948), directed by Billy Wilder.

In the 1950s he played insurance investigator Johnny Dollar in the popular radio series " Yours Truly ,Johnny Dollar " ( the man with the action-packed expense account). The series can be heard at htpp://www.otr.net

John Lund's father was a Norwegian immigrant and glassblower. Lund did not finish high school, and he tried several businesses before settling on advertising in the 1930s. He began acting in 1939, appearing on Broadway in William Shakespeare's As You Like It two years later. It was his appearance in the play The Hasty Heart (1945) that got him recognized by Hollywood. His first film was To Each His Own (1946) with Olivia de Havilland for Paramount where he played dual roles.

Another notable role in Mitchell Leisen's comedy The Mating Season (1951) costaring Gene Tierney, Miriam Hopkins, and Thelma Ritter. The blonde-haired, blue-eyed actor started as a leading man in the 1940s but later took on supporting roles in films in the 1950s. He also acted on Broadwaymarker and radio. Lund retired to his house in Coldwater Canyon in the Hollywood Hills in 1963 and died of heart problems in 1992.
